M&Co, a Scotland based clothing retail chain, has announced plans to launch four new franchise outlets in the Middle East by end of the current year.
The announcement comes as a part of the retailer's plans to substantially expand its business and develop a global franchisee outlet network.
M&Co, which was known as Mackays Stores till 2006, intends to launch 50 overseas franchise outlets over the next five years, if the market sentiment remains positive.
The company has already inked a franchise deal with Emirates-based business firm Al Nasser Holdings for launching 30 franchise outlets across the Middle East, four of which would be launched this year in shopping malls in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Al Nasser's retail arm, which also operates the La Senza franchise in the Middle East, would open the first outlet in the Dubai Mall in May this year.
M&Co views United Arab Emirates and the Middle East as the natural markets for overseas expansion of its brand, featuring highly fashion focused quality products with a family appeal, the Scottish company said.
In view of the retail exposure that Al Naseer Holdings has in the Middle East region, M&Co sees its partnership with the firm as a perfect association for development of its contemporary M&Co brand, it added.
The overseas outlets would focus more on offering high-quality fashion brands and premium kidswear collections, M&Co said.
M&Co, which has nearly 300 stores across the UK, is also in talks with franchisees in other countries like Ukraine, Russia and Serbia, where it intends to expand.
