US jeans manufacturer A&S Clothing in expansion mode

A&S Clothing Company, denim wear manufacturer based in Georgia's Fannin County in the US, is in expansion mode and aims to double its staff strength over the next two years.

Abdul and Salma Adam, owners of A&S Clothing, have approved lease-purchase of 20,000 square feet area of Blue Ridge Industries facility in Georgia, the Fannin County Development Authority announced.

Procurement of the new facility would help the firm to enhance production of denim jeans and other US-made products. Besides, it would also enable the firm to expand in newer markets, Development Authority Executive Director, Stephanie Scearce, said.

A&S Clothing, engaged in production of jeans in the County for over 22 years, intends to grow its staff strength to 50 over the next two years, Ms. Scearce said.

The apparel firm would share the total 42,500 square feet facility of the Blue Ridge Industries with another local firm, which too is set for expansion.

Development Authority Chairman Johnny Chastain said having a ready-to-go site enabled them to entertain companies like A&S Clothing.

Having understood the significance of having a prospect-ready site, the Development Authority has made a commitment to community readiness, he added.

Ms. Scearce said that in today's economic world, several businesses prefer existing structures and ready-to-go sites for their expansion programmes.
