Incipio acquires lifestyle brand Tavik

Tavik announced it has been acquired by Incipio, a leading mobile device accessory company headquartered in Irvine, California. The acquisition fueled by an understanding that apparel and mobile accessories are converging as vehicles of self-expression, brings Tavik and Incipio together under one roof, thereby streamlining operations and fostering creative synergy.
The two Southern California-based lifestyle brands are uniting their efforts to engage the active individual who is inspired by music, fashion and technology.
“The original vision of Tavik was, and still is, to be an iconic, worldwide lifestyle brand that produces premium collections for the active individual engaged in the modern beach culture,” says Tavik Chief Executive Officer Erik Paulsen. “With Incipio's global capabilities in production, logistics, warehousing, distribution and financing, Tavik will have the freedom and resources to focus on product design, marketing and sales…enabling us to expand into new categories and grow tremendously upon our existing momentum,” Paulsen continues.
Having collaborated with Tavik on a collection of iPhone 4S and the new iPad cases, Incipio Chief Executive Officer, Andy Fathollahi, recognized and seized the opportunity to acquire Tavik.
“Tavik is a highly-respected, premium lifestyle brand that has stayed true to its core over the past eight years in the apparel and accessories industry; the brand has tremendous potential,” says Fathollahi. “Both Tavik and Incipio have achieved diverse distribution while staying faithful to their Southern California heritage. Together, the brands will amplify each other's strengths and leverage relationships and expertise to expand and boost profitability.”
Incipio, founded thirteen years ago in a suburban garage just like Tavik, has grown into a multi-million dollar company and is carried in over 40,000 retail locations worldwide. Ranked for the past three years, by the Orange County Business Journal, as one of Orange County's fastest growing private companies, Incipio produces a range of products from Apple, Android and BlackBerry cases to power accessories and Hi-Fi headphones.
