Denims brand Moustache sets ambitious expansion plan

Whilst Denim brands battle it out all across India, Moustache Jeans has emerged the victor in the Eastern region. The popularity of this brand is very high in the region, which is evident from the brand winning the best denim brand of eastern India for the last two consecutive years at the Eastern India Retail Forum organized by Images Group. Also, Late Mr. Hari Narian Shah, founder of the company, received the prestigious “Retail Icon” award at the Asia Retail Congress.

Moustache has come a long way from being one of the pioneering branded denim products in India with its launch in 1984 – “Jeans Maker Since 1984”. Today, the Moustache phenomenon is visible across 300+ MBOs, 47 EBOs and 32 Large Format Stores like Shoppers Stop, Reliance Trends, Bharti Wall Mart, etc. The large format stores have played a vital role in creating the Moustache a pan India brand.

Moustache has an ambitious expansion plan EBO's to have 100+ EBO stores by 2013 covering all cities. It intends to increase its MBO presence to 500+ by the end of next year.

In US, Moustache products are sold through exclusive boutiques in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. The company is in negotiations with more stores to sell its products abroad and to establish itself in the Western markets and to have a strong foothold globally.

Moustache's Statement on Ladies Jeans is “It is all about Women, looking Beautiful in her Jeans, Not the Jeans Drawing Attention to Her”. Moustache ladies segment is marketed as “M_Brand”. Once Moustache gets the ladies segment established, over time it will bring in a variety of women's tops.
