Superdry to open largest North American store in NY

Innovative British lifestyle brand Superdry USA will debut its largest North American retail destination with the unveiling of a two story, 14,000-square-foot store in New York City's iconic Times Square.

Boasting men's and women's casual and contemporary apparel and accessories housed within a fast-paced, eclectic environment, the new location will neighbor such Times Square mainstays as Forever 21, MAC and M&M's, among others. The new store marks the brand's third location in New York since 2009, joining South Street Seaport and on Broadway in NoHo.

Superdry Times Square will offer a range of product categories that span men's and women's apparel, denim, swimwear, fragrance and a vast selection of accessories and footwear. Catering to a cosmopolitan, trend-setting crowd, the store will carry signature styles including windcheaters, lumberjacks and leather jackets in addition to exclusive Times Square pieces, such as tin-tab tees, knitwear, dresses and lightweight scarves.

Shoppers can swiftly check out by optimizing the iPod Touch portable check out system.

Superdry is celebrated for housing its collections in uniquely designed retail environments. Times Square will be no exception, featuring oversized jam jar chandeliers, as well as triple patchwork tables made from reclaimed wood and an extensive use of raw steel.

New design innovations never before seen in Superdry's U.S. stores will include an industrial bomb light chandelier made from British factory lights salvaged from the 1940's, bespoke cubby-style denim cabinetry, vetrine mannequin display units and a dedicated area to the brand's leather and premium footwear collection.

Superdry USA will continue its New York City retail expansion with the opening of a Lexington Avenue and 59th Street location in August 2012.

Superdry USA was conceived in 2003 by James Holder and Julian Dunkerton following an inspirational trip to Tokyo.

Beginning with a collection of five men's graphic t-shirts, the brand has since grown into an international retailer that fuses distinctive fashion influences from across the globe, including precise British tailoring, vintage Americana style and hand-drawn Japanese-inspired graphics. The brand is celebrated for its cutting edge designs, attention to detail and accessible price points.

A division of Sunrise Brands, Superdry USA opened its first store in NoHo in 2009. As a testament to their growing international footprint and their aggressive retail formula, Superdry USA has since opened stores in markets including Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, Las Vegas, NV, Santa Clara, CA, Santa Monica, CA, Paramus, NJ and Bloomington, MN. Superdry is sold globally in over 30 countries.
