IAF announces first three speakers of supply chain session

Speakers from renowned companies and organisations worldwide have already confirmed their attendance at the 28th IAF World Apparel Convention to be held on 24 – 28 September 2012 in Oporto, Portugal.

The International Apparel Federation (IAF) is proud to announce the first three speakers in the supply chain session. Other speakers in this session include Ed Gribbin (Alvanon), Kurt Cavano (Tradecard) and Bob McKee (Infor). Moderator of the session is former ATP President Paulo Nunes de Almeida.

Harry Lee, CEO, Textile Alliance Limited (TAL)
Privately-owned TAL employs over 20,000 workers, has an annual production of 55m pieces of apparel a year, and makes one out of every six dress shirts sold in the US. It also supplies blouses, trousers, knits and tailored suits for US customers such as Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Dockers, Eddie Bauer, Givenchy, Giordano, Hugo Boss, JCrew, JCPenney, Nordstrom, Talbots and Tommy Hilfiger. Dr. Lee joined TAL in Hong Kong in 1973 and is actively involved in a number of trade organisations in Hong Kong.

Jan Hilger, Director Operations, Escada
Jan Hilger, Director Operations at Escada, is responsible for formalwear including denim, shoes and accessories. He is also responsible for the Escada Competence Center for High-End Tailoring and Couture in Slovenia. Hilger was part of the corporate restructuring program that navigated the company through the insolvency and relaunched Escada under the new ownership of Megha Mittal. Just recently he started a cluster project together with other European premium and luxury womenswear brands to secure the art of high-end tailoring in geographical Europe.

Senol Sankaya, CEO, Yesim Tekstil
Yesim Tekstil employs some 3,000 people in its garment and home textiles production with a daily production capacity of 55 tons of knitted products, 70 tons dyed, 100,000 meters of printed fabric, 150,000 pieces of garments and 60,000 pieces of home textiles.

A production partner of the Nike brand since 2005, Yesim Tekstil also manufactures for internationally renowned brands such as Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Zara, Pull&Bear, Massimo Dutti, Esprit, Hugo Boss, Lands' End, Tchibo and Schlafgut.

According to the last research, which is carried out every year by Ekonomist magazine, Senol Sankaya was among the “Most Effective 50 Businessmen in Anatolia (Turkey). Mr. Sankaya is also member of the IAF Board.

The upcoming 28th IAF World Apparel Convention will be held on 24 – 28 September 2012 in Oporto, Portugal, and will focus on the theme Fashion Business in a Changing Environment. Registration, which can be done on the IAF website, has officially opened.
