With its sandy Sahara colour scheme g design injects a calmer note into fashion for Summer 2013. By contrast, the Bretagne theme creates maritime inspirations. Sophisticated styles, for instance in shiny cotton or classy denim, are contrasted by the casual looks of denim chinos or heavily bleached colour denims.
Sahara tones dominate the g design collection in Summer 2013. Alongside this sand and earth tones stand for discreet elegance and bring out the shine in accent colours like saffron, azure or blood red. Summery stripes in white and faded colours like blue, red or green are reminiscent of Breton savoir vivre. Vintage finishes are displayed by denim and colours with washed out effects.
Silhouettes and Hem Widths
The silhouette of the g design menswear collection is slim – thanks to a narrow leg and hem widths from 38 to 40 cm. The slightly lower rise underlines the modern look.
The Bretagne collection theme attracts us with its faded maritime colours, soft nude tones and full nautical shades. A key look are stripes – for instance as two-tone or inside-out weaves. Conveying French flair are fil-a-fil and linen as herringbone or plains. For a sporty 5-pocket and modern flat-front g design focuses on very fine, ultra-light Japanese yarn that is crisp to the touch.
The Sahara theme presents a colonial-inspired colour scheme with a broad range of earth and sand tones. Providing a counterpoint to this are sun-bleached linen trousers in primary colours. In the Sahara theme natural materials like linen play the main role while material blends and superlight cottons take on key secondary roles.
Things are getting preppy! Exclusive outer fabrics, for instance as a two-ply or with a discreet shine, display the new elegance of fashion. Fine Japanese yarns meet robust, stonewashed looks. Sporty cotton boasts an elaborate inside finish and split waistband, a technique from quality woollen trouser tailoring.
Denims in Summer 2013 exude great class – whether as clean and super light denim chinos or as hybrids combining the elements of elegant woollen tailored waistbands and modern denim finishing. Elaborate washes provide a sophisticated sporty vintage look. Colour denims also score points with strong bleaching and used effects.
