Turkey is boosting its presence on the European market with a diverse specialist range of products: primarily cotton, in particular an excellent organic range, knits and denim. South Korea, which is very strong on functional textiles, wants to expand its customer base with the surge in interest in outdoor- wear. After a short export decline to devote themselves to their domestic market, China is again turning to the European market to boost its exports.

Silk and fabrics with a silky appearance
The Huzhou Chamber International of Commerce, which organises weavers from the Huzhou region of continental China, will be attending with silk producers. Two of these firms are of particular interest as they already work for reputed European weavers like the Italian silk producer Ratti.
Huzhou Hing Fat offers a lovely range of high-end silk with stretch crêpe georgette, heavy silk crêpe or a silk and wool blend. Also excellent for prints.
Huzhou Run Yuan will appeal to buyers with its luxurious collections of 100% crêpe and muslin.
An exclusive product comes to us from Japan with the Saiei Orimono label with an innovation, christened ‘Fairy Feather’, and is an ultrafine, 8-denier silk.
Threads are dyed before weaving to produce an unrivalled iridescent effect. The label belongs to the Japan Silk and Rayon Weavers’ Association.
Knits
Ege Tekstil (Turkey) offers a wide variety of knitted fabrics available in several materials (viscose, cotton blends, cotton-modal with an extremely soft feel and 100% slub cotton). They also have a range of organic cotton knits.
Mem Tekstil (Turkey) will present some good deals with 100% cotton or 100% bamboo knits.
