IAF announces speakers for technology & innovation session

Speakers from renowned companies and organisations worldwide have already confirmed their attendance at the 28th IAF World Apparel Convention to be held on 26 and 27 September 2012 in Oporto, Portugal. The International Apparel Federation (IAF) is pleased to announce the moderator and speakers in the Technology & Innovation Session.

During the Technology & Innovation Session, speakers will take a closer look at innovation in digital solutions for fashion business and new ways of attracting consumers. They will speak about web sales & mobile shopping, and draw from their own experience in e-commerce models. Always reaching the right consumer with the right product means mastering the art of managing a worldwide supply chain as if all the players were sitting in the same room. This session will focus on how this can be achieved in a changing environment.

The moderator of this session, Mr. Braz Costa (Portugal), is the Director General of CITEVE as well as the President of Textranet.

The following speakers will share their views and delve into the theme:

Head of Apparel Technology at Hugo Boss, Joachim Hensch (Germany)

  • He has been actively involved in integrating new and innovative technologies at retail and online level, as well as throughout the product development and supply chain. He is also the worldwide president of the International Association of Clothing Designers and Executives (IACDE).

President of Alvanon, Ed Gribbin (USA)

  • Alvanon is the apparel fit expert, partnering with brands and retailers worldwide to develop effective sizing and fit strategies, accurate fit standards and supply chain tools, and faster, more efficient product development processes.

Director of Consulting at Unic, Jorij Abraham (Netherlands)

President and CEO at TC2, Mike Fralix (USA)

Augmented Reality Director and CEO and TAB Worldmedia, Remco Vroom (Netherlands) 

  • This is the first full service mobile innovation agency specialized in augmented reality content development and is now one of the leading companies for mobile augmented reality content productions in the world.

The upcoming 28th IAF World Apparel Convention will be held on 24 – 28 September 2012 in Oporto, Portugal, and will focus on the theme Fashion Business in a Changing Environment. Registration, which can be done on the IAF website, has officially opened. All interested delegates are invited to consult the website for information regarding theme, program and registration.
