“We are extremely satisfied with the way business has developed in the first six months of this year“, says Juergen Gessler, CEO of the Porsche Design Group. “The enormous growth is due especially to the measures – both in production and in marketing – which we initiated last year. We are very pleased to be able to reap the benefit already in this first half year. The high acceptance of our luxury brand, Porsche Design, is cause for optimism on our part. Whether in the relatively new field of fashion or in our traditional domains of glasses and watches, the feedback from our customers all over the world is consistently positive.”
In the first half of the business year 2012 the enterprise opened own retail stores in Munich and Hong Kong. The distribution network was additionally enlarged by numerous new franchise stores in locations including Toronto (Canada), Houston and Salt Lake City (both in the USA), Beijing Airport (China) and Mexico City (Mexico).
Juergen Gessler comments: “Our luxury brand Porsche Design expresses our individual definition of luxury. The urge to perfection is its most distinctive feature. We are uncompromising in the materials we use and in our manufacturing. There are no spurious design details. This was true when Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche founded the brand in 1972 and it is still true 40 years on. For us, this constitutes both commitment and motivation.”
The activities of the Porsche Design Group are concentrated in the business areas of Porsche Design, Porsche Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria).
Porsche Design is one of the leading luxury brands in the high-end men’s accessories segment. It stands for products that combine functional, timeless and puristic design with impressive technical innovations. Porsche Design products are sold worldwide exclusively in Porsche Design stores, shop-in-shops, top-quality department stores and luxury retail outlets.
