Speakers for ASBCI Industry Conference announced

The conference will feature 12 eminent speakers who are actively involved in sourcing and/or reviving the UK manufacturing sector. Speakers will reveal what they are doing to bring all or elements of their supply chains back to the UK and the obstacles they have encountered and overcome. The conference will also host a ‘production panel’ comprising expert suppliers from Lectra, Kufner Textil and NWTexnet who will examine the essential elements needed to support a UK-based manufacturing operation.

The Bank of England, the Pentland Group and De Montfort University will explore the current UK trading and manufacturing climate while retail brands J Barbour & Sons, Cooper & Stollbrand and Johnstons of Elgin will share their expertise in manufacturing and sourcing clothing from the UK.

Shop Direct Group will examine the ethical issues of UK production.   Buff Clothing and Courtaulds Brands will demonstrate how they make a commercial  and sustainable success of producing volume product in the UK while fashion portal Fashioncapital.co.uk/Fashion Enter will share details of an exciting new apprenticeship scheme designed to give young people the necessary production skills to support a UK manufacturing recovery. Daniel Hanson, supplier of exclusive dressing gowns to the rich and famous, will finish the day with his unique brand of wit and business wisdom.
