5 Crown International’s focus is on nurturing and strengthening a license’s brand identity. Then, through a predetermined methodology, they create a true “collection” based retail experience for both the brand and consumer.
The partners in 5 Crown International have over 30 years of experience in all aspects of the apparel business, including design, sourcing, financial planning, marketing and distribution. “Our mission is to create product on the cusp of fashion trends, while staying true to tradition” said Jonathan Whaley, the company’s designer and one of its principals. They combine innovative knit and woven fabric constructions and responsible pricing methods to effectively compete as a major supplier in the apparel marketplace.
Jonathan Whaley has designed for Willi Smith, PVH Van Heusen, American Eagle Outfitters, Claiborne, Sean John and Windsong Allegiance. At Windsong he was responsible for a number of major brands including; Calvin Klein Golf, Geoffrey Beene, Alexander Julian, Hathaway and New Frontier.
He has also designed for over a dozen private label brands including marquee names like Lord & Taylor.
Partner Steve McCullough’s resume includes stints at Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Fairway and Greene Golf and Windsong Allegiance. His expertise is sales, production and distribution. He has served at the Vice President at the Management level and has built organizations’ sales teams, production operations and private label businesses prior to co-founding 5 Crown International.
5 Crown International is a privately held company located on the Connecticut coastline in Milford. It was founded in 2006. Their brands and licenses include; Jack Nicklaus, Billy Jealousy, Alexander Julian and Crown and Eagle Collegiate with additional licenses in development. The company also has a Private Label business and has created collections for Macy’s, Dillards, Lord & Taylor, Orvis, Paul Stuart, Saks, Bealls, Bon Ton, Nordstrom and Peter Millar.
