Fashion Industry Award for Aussie TCF sector

The 19th annual Belmont Small Business Awards are once again underway and open for small businesses across Western Australia until 5pm Monday 15th October 2012.

This year the Fashion Industry award is being sponsored by ‘My Fashion Incubator’, which is an innovative project run by the Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia Inc. (TCFWA).

TCFWA provide a valuable resource for the fashion & TCFL industries. Since being established in 1998, the centre has been so successful, that it now receives requests from across Australia and overseas, from organisations and designers wishing to be involved in its opportunities and projects.

Providing specialised business skills and industry mentoring through the development of industry projects and programs to better equip those operating in the industry is one of the main areas that TCFWA has been recognised as a leader and role model organisation across Australia an overseas. TCFWA has been instrumental in establishing TCF Global village community sewing centres in developing countries and in 2011 hosted the 3rd International Fashion Incubator Conference in Perth with 24 countries attending.

This year's Belmont Small Business Awards include a total of 22 categories for entrants to consider such as Enterprise of the Year, Spirit of Australia, eCommerce, Indigenous Business of the Year and Young Entrepreneur Award.

To enter the Fashion Industry Award, the business or organisation must be located in Western Australia.

Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia Inc. (TCFWA) founder and CEO Carol Hanlon said, “We are glad that ‘My Fashion Incubator’ has the opportunity of supporting the Fashion Industry Award in the Belmont Small Business Awards this year.”

The final “Night of Stars” event when the winners will be announced will be held on the 15th November 2012 in the Grand Ballroom, Crown Perth.
