Onkar Group, launched Kolkata’s first ever customized designer apparel studio at 26C Lake View Road in the propitious presence of Ace designers Agnimitra Paul, Shantanu Goenka and the veteran actor, Sandhya Roy. The exquisite and trendy designs were gracefully flaunted by the renowned city model, Satarupa Pyne.

Having earned a reputation for being the largest producers of digital prints on silk in India, the flagship store of the Onkar group happens to be the only all digital retail store in India, providing a wide repertoire of Ethnic, Indo-western, Party wear and Bridal collection, along with trendy and chic accessories.

Its claim to fame is directly catering to the needs of the customers offering exquisite designs and high levels of customization. The store embraces collections ranging from Rs. 1000- 60,000. It also has the credential of showcasing designer Shantanu Goenka’s collection under the tagline “Design by Shantanu Goenka”.

As the garment decoration market has matured, so has the demand for one stop shopping.  In today’s competitive market it is important to maximize potential with every client. The digital store provides consumers a fun and engaging point of purchase. The apparel studio sources its designs from across the globe and has tie-ups with renowned design houses in Italy like Avant Garde, Collezioni di Como and Bernini, Post studio, Studio 33.

From India it sources its designs from Delhi and Mumbai.  To maintain exclusivity, the company patents the designs developed by the external designers. Besides, the company has an in-house design team in Kolkata. On the customization end, the studio claims that it can convert any memory into a digital print.

Bring your photograph to the studio and you could walk away with a pair of curtains, bedding or cushion cover with the image imprinted on it. The company has recently added ladies shoes, handbags and junk jewellery to its array of products. Its initial success in Kolkata has also prompted the company to carry the concept to other metros in India and also expand its reach abroad.

Mr. Gagan Goenka, Managing Director, Onkar Group, said “The day to day life in India, especially the life in the city of joy, has inspired the creations of Onkar. Onkar Group is ready to bring a revolutionized change to current fashion needs. The group’s first media venture, a regional Bengali News Channel is also on the anvil.”

Onkar is targeting mainly the premium and niche clientele. Their USP lies in the complete product; right from the inception of the creative work that boasts of its exclusive designs, patterns or printing not to be found anywhere in India.

Every piece of work can be personalized as per the client requirement as they truly deliver what one can perceive. The elegantly trendy brand with designs, bolder, outlandish and daring – both in colors and concepts, introduces Indians to a concept they had never before set their eyes upon.
