Biba Apparels to promote 'Indian by Manish Arora'

Biba Apparels, the leading ethnic wear brand, has entered into a joint venture with Manish Arora, the globally-acclaimed Indian fashion designer, to promote his premium ethnic wear brand ‘Indian by Manish Arora’.

‘Indian by Manish Arora’ is a fashion apparel brand launched in 2009 to tap the rapidly developing premium ethnic wear segment in the country. The brand offers apparels such as salwar kameez, sarees, lehengas, kurtis, tunics, t-shirts and many more.

Talking about the joint venture, Managing Director of Biba Apparels Pvt Ltd, Mr. Siddharth Bindra, told fibre2fashion, “We are delighted to be associated with Manish, who is an extremely accomplished designer and popular for his ability to infuse Indian sensibility with international appeal.”

“We have been contemplating to enter the bridal and luxury wear segment for a while now, and with Manish, not only we have the best possible partner, but feel it is right time for us to enter this segment,” he adds.

Mr. Manish Arora said, “Biba Apparels is a perfect partner for us to grow our apparel brand ‘Indian by Manish Arora’. We share similar values and our strengths together shall create a strong business. My focus will be on creating a great product and making sure that there are many happy young women wearing my designs”.

Under the new venture, the company is planning to open up four exclusive brand outlets in the next six months and it aims to earn Rs. 300-400 million in the next two years. The first outlet is planned at Emporia Mall, Delhi and the other three outlets are likely to be set up in Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.

Biba Apparels is an ethnic wear brand launched by Mrs. Meena Bindra from Bombay in 1988 with an objective to provide trend setting and fashionable Indian attire at an affordable price. The company’s apparels are available in three categories of salwar kameez dupatta, mix and match and unstitched fabrics.

It is currently focussing on a pan-India presence while exploiting its strong retail expertise, production capabilities, strong supply linkages and well established network.

Manish Arora has collaborated with many global brands on limited edition collections, which are retailed through some of the international stores. He is the only Indian fashion designer who has the membership of the Federation Francaise de la couture du prêt a porter in Paris, the most important fashion body comprising of members that include global luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Chanel etc.
