In his new role, Abboud will leverage his extensive industry and design knowledge to work directly with Men's Wearhouse's merchants and sourcing team to enhance and improve the company's offerings. Abboud will bring to consumers innovative concepts, including Jaz, his collection of American luxury menswear, while developing new brands for Men's Wearhouse.
"I am excited to have Joseph join our team and bring his talents to our organization," said Doug Ewert, President and Chief Executive Officer at Men's Wearhouse. "By marrying the largest menswear specialty retailer with Joseph Abboud's vision and ability, the brand will be even better positioned to bring contemporary, well-made menswear directly to our customers at great prices."
Prior to Men's Wearhouse, Abboud served as the Chief Creative Officer of HMX Group, where he led the creative direction and modernization of iconic apparel brands including Hickey Freeman, Hart Schaffner Marx, Coppley, and Bobby Jones. Earlier in his career, Abboud served a twelve-year tenure with high-end clothing store, Louis Boston, before going on to design for Polo Ralph Lauren and eventually launching his own clothing collection.
"I am very excited to partner with Doug Ewert and his team at Men's Wearhouse to take menswear specialty retail to a new level and to continue with George Zimmer's vision of great quality, great service, and, of course, great value," Abboud said. "Coming full circle, this is also a great opportunity for me to return to retail, where I hope to bring new ideas and innovative concepts directly to the consumer, including the launch of my Jaz collection."
