Mumbai to host child & babycare products trade show

CBME India, a brand new event for the Indian Child and Baby care products and service industry, will take place from 11-13 April, at Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Goregoan, Mumbai, India. Set up by the world's second largest event organizer, UBM plc, which has been organising CBME Shanghai successfully for the past 12 years, CBME India will provide an unrivalled business platform for this expanding market.

Combining a high-level seminar and exhibition, CBME India will see a conglomeration of  local and global manufacturers and providers of children, baby and maternity products and services along with thousands of retailers, wholesalers, agents, importers and educational institutions, all searching for the latest quality products and services.

India’s children, baby and maternity products market has been largely untapped and growing at exponential rates. CBME India is set to provide a platform for industry suppliers to showcase the best in products and services and to promote their brands to the South Asian audience. 

The land of opportunities, India is the most attractive retail destination in the world and hence represents a high-potential, untapped market for baby and childcare products. According to the statistics from the RNCOS March 2012 report, the Indian baby and child care market has substantially grown during the past few years and caught the attention of many international players. Estimated to be US$11.2 billion with a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17%, the Indian Child and Baby care products market is expected to reach US $ 21 billion by 2015.

A relatively young country, where children 12 years old and younger account for around 23% of the total population, India’s nascent baby and childcare market is becoming the world’s fastest growing. The continuing healthy birth rate compared to the other economies coupled with growing awareness, surging income levels, aggressive marketing strategies, shifts in consumer behaviour and the acceptance of premium products is set to maintain the growth momentum of the country’s children, baby , and maternity products market.
