The great demand here confirms our approach,” says Gerhard Kränzle, CEO at GARDEUR GmbH. Women’s wear presents “Social Tech”, authentic denim drainpipes that combine laser technology with ozone washing. Eco-friendly washing technology means less water, less energy and fewer chemicals are used during production. In addition to environmental aspects the company also aims to reduce the impact production has on those people involved in manufacture.
Atelier GARDEUR Women’s wear is also continuing two other successful lines: “Made in Green”, denim drainpipes made with reduced energy and water consumption as well as women’s jeans made of organic cotton, certified according to the independent Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The GOTS seal stands for high ecological standards as well as the observance of social responsibility criteria all along the delivery chain – from cotton farmers through to spinning and weaving mills and from production through to logistics.
Menswear is now supplementing its successful line Fair trade-Denim with Fair trade-Cotton. New for all Fair trade lines is a Track-&-Trace-System: every pair of trousers carries a code number. If customers enter this code on the Fair trade website www.fairtrade-deutschland.de they can see all the production phases for their trousers – from the cotton farmer to the spinning and weaving mill and onwards to the cutting facility.
The independent Fair trade seal is proof that all those people contributing to production are treated responsibly and guarantees that the cotton used for the jeans was cultivated according to international Fair trade standards and processed into the final product. In addition to this, Atelier GARDEUR Menswear also offers two GOTS-certified trouser options – one in denim and one in cotton.
