For the Spring Summer 2013, Creative Directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli created an Haute Couture collection inspired by an enchanted garden.Lightness is the defining note: materials, embellishments and designs flow shapes express pure movement.Like a garden in full bloom, multiplication increases the sense of wonder: tiny ruching abounds on a skirt, flowers blossom on the short balloon dress, and hand-painted beading holds tiny ruffles in place on an ankle-length dress. Impalpable embellishments are subtle, materials such as cady, triple organza and tulle are light yet crisp creating solid silhouettes.
Shades of ivory, beige, white, and aqua compose a diaphanous, delicate symphony. Carnal red accents emerge to remind us that even in an oniric dimension, contrast is the essence of modernity.
Meticulous workmanship and creativity are combined in a higher form of expression. Creative Directors ponder the specificity of sublime art and exalt the concept of absolute uniqueness. Each dress is an inimitable vision: evanescent yet tangible, like the authentic spirit of couture. Fantasy and reality transform one another with magical naturalness.
