New Era, the official on-field cap for Major League Baseball (MLB), announced the launch of the Diamond Era 59FIFTY, the brand-new Authentic Collection cap that will be worn by all MLB clubs starting with the 2013 Spring Training season.  The MLB Diamond Era 59FIFTY marks the next evolution of the baseball cap and will usher in a new chapter for sport performance and fashion. The collection will be available for purchase on MLB.com and at Spring Training sites on February 22, 2013.

The Diamond Era 59FIFTY introduces a new level of performance headwear to Major League clubs.  Diamond Era incorporates new NE TECH performance technology ultimately providing players with revolutionary light weight, moisture wicking caps.  Also, the Diamond Era 59FIFTY features different logos and/or color combinations worn by MLB clubs, ultimately providing fans with exciting new looks for their favorite club.

Fans can expect to see the Diamond Era 59FIFTY throughout the entire baseball season, starting with Spring Training and during Batting Practice.

"New Era continues to raise the bar in performance headwear and we are excited to introduce the Diamond Era Collection as our most innovative product offering yet," said Todd Sokolowski, Sr. Director of On-Field Product for New Era. "We've already received great feedback and we're all eager to share the collection with baseball fans everywhere."

"Many of these new caps feature popular designs that will be appearing on an on-field cap for the first time ever, so we expect them to be well-received by fans," said Ryan Samuelson , Director of Licensing for Major League Baseball. "The caps will also be more popular among players due to the advanced technology and increased moisture wicking."

Always at the forefront of innovation, the 59FIFTY is infused with the latest NE TECH materials to keep players cool and dry on the field of play.  Made with a new state-of-the art performance diamond print fabric, the first-class Diamond Era 59FIFTY is lighter for increased breathability.  The premier cap also features SOLAREA, 50+ UV protection that helps deflect the sun's unforgiving rays and COOLERA technology that wicks away sweat to keep players comfortable and dry, allowing them to focus on optimal performance.
