Since the inception of Sand Volleyball as an NCAA scholarship sport in 2011, popularity among youths, high school and college age, has begun to skyrocket. Prior to then, few opportunities existed for young athletes to play beach volleyball in an organized environment.

Hundreds of indoor clubs have since initiated programs, and many of the top organizations like the AAU, USA Beach Volleyball, and the National Collegiate Sand Volleyball Association have taken notice. By 2014, over 1,500 organized sand club programs are expected to be operating in the U.S., compared to about 100 in 2012. As participation grows so will the need for uniforms.
