Speedo International has announced that Oberalp Deutschland GmbH and Oberalp Austria GmbH have been appointed as its new distribution partners in Germany and Austria respectively.

The agreement, which will begin in May 2013, extends Speedo’s existing working relationship with the Oberalp Group, which has handled the distribution of Speedo products in Italy since 2008.

The announcement comes following a mutual agreement between Speedo and Action Sports GmbH to end its existing distribution partnership.

Steve Lucas, Vice President of International Business Development at Speedo International, said:  “Speedo is delighted to announce Oberalp Deutschland GmbH and Oberalp Austria GmbH as its new distributors in Germany and Austria. We have already enjoyed a successful partnership in Italy with Oberalp and this represents an exciting new beginning for Speedo in two other important markets. We are excited about extending our partnership and working closely with Oberalp to accelerate the growth of Speedo in Europe.”

“This new partnership comes following the conclusion of our partnership with Action Sports GmbH, and we would like to thank them for their work for the Speedo brand over the last five years.”
