South Korea bans women from wearing skimpy outfits

An overexposure law prohibiting women from wearing skimpy revealing outfits has been passed in South Korea.
According to the law, signed by the sovereign state’s newly elected President Park Gyun-he, women who deemed to be overexposed in public will face a fine of 50,000 won.
The new rule, also called South Korea’s Underexposure Law, has met with criticism from both celebrities and opposition party leaders of the Far East Asian country.
Describing the controversial move as an infringement of freedom of expression, the law has been compared with the short skirt banning regulation passed by the late President and father of the incumbent President, Mr. Park Chung-hee in the 1970s.
However, the South Korean law enforcement authorities claim that the amendment is meant to prevent public indecency due to nudity and not meant to regulate what people wear.
