Iconic launches collegiate heritage brand - UCLA

Bringing LA inspired fashion to the shores of Dubai, fashion and lifestyle destination ICONIC has exclusively launched UCLA, the collegiate heritage brand, for the fashion-savvy audiences in the Region. The collection will, currently, only be for men and will stay true to the UCLA culture, while at the same time featuring the SS’13 looks and trends.

Taking inspiration from The University of California, Los Angeles which has a top academic record and an unrivalled sporting legacy, the UCLA clothing line has a long-standing global following. The brand epitomizes the American College experience by blending heritage, fun and sporting achievement along with the inspirational Californian lifestyle.

Speaking on the introduction of a new brand to the ICONIC portfolio, Raza Beig, CEO Splash and ICONIC said; “ICONIC stands for Fashion Different and that is what we aim to achieve when we launch a new brand. 

"UCLA is one of these few brands that sync well with the ICONIC image and that ties in a trendy collection that is loved by everyone, including celebrities like Cristiano Ronaldo and many more. Going forward, we will be adding the womens wear collection to the UCLA portfolio. We are sure that UCLA will be a welcoming addition to the ICONIC family.”

The menswear collection is split into Heritage, LA and Track & Field. Heritage uses vintage themes to illustrate the University’s traditions and way of life. The LA range takes influences from California, adding bold colors to a sporting theme. Track and Field is subtle athletic branding to complement basic shapes. Also, the newly added Crew collection takes inspiration from the 1937 UCLA crew team and uses distressed fabrics & photo-printed half-moons.

The SS’13 Collection draws inspiration from archived imagery whilst picking on key trends such as color blocking, dip-dye, all-over-embroideries and print. Functional pieces such as pack-away macs, reversible garments and user-friendly accessories are designed in a manner that gives more to the customers. Additionally, classic pieces such as sweat shirts, hoodies, t-shirts, caps, shorts, Bags have been updated with new trims and labels, such as leather zip pulls and wooden toggles.

The collection which starts from AED 45 onwards is available across all ICONIC stores in the UAE and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. So, calling all men - make space in your wardrobe this season to celebrate the spirit of collegiate heritage with UCLA at ICONIC.
