Collaborating for the first time, the Levi's X Liberty collection is as honest, frank and earnest as the path that bought the two brands together.

Two exclusively designed Liberty prints, Carlin and Kerr Bandana, have been married with silhouettes pulled from the Levi's archives and reinterpreted to reflect the trends of today.

The hero print called Carlin, a design of painterly garden flowers, is inspired by a Liberty archive print from the 1970s. The print was redrawn with watercolour pencils and put into a repeat design to create a colourful painted, flowing floral. It is named after the Levi’s designer Jenny Carlin who worked on the collection.

Kerr Bandana is the second print in the collection. The design is both floral and Pointillist in its appearance and is inspired by a painting from the Liberty archive that dates back to the late 1940s.

The Levi’s and Liberty design teams originally redesigned the Kerr Bandana print as a bandana design with a border, then took the elements to laser burn the pattern onto the denim. The denim is then garment finished using an innovative laser technique to apply the design to the indigo.

"Working with the world leader in denim has opened up our print house to a new global customer. We are honoured to be the first brand Levi’s has partnered with on their women’s line and can’t wait to have the collection swinging in our store." - Ed Burstell, Managing Director at Liberty.

The Levi’s X Liberty collection features 15 pieces including the iconic 501 jean short, Trucker jacket, boyfriend skinny jean, a bustier and a small collection of covetable accessories.
