The international sports industry is subject to continual change. As a result, professional further training offers are essential for industry and retail stores to compete successfully in the long term.

ISPO Academy is now offering this throughout the complete year. The program is being expanded further, which was started in 2012 and held successfully at ISPO MUNICH 2013 and ISPO BEIJING 2013.

Interested persons can undergo training on various topics at the ISPO Academy in Shanghai for the first time from June 17 to 19, 2013. The program includes purchasing and storage, visual aids for promoting sales, cultivation of contacts and successful setup of a multi-brand shop, among other things.

A mix of nationally and internationally renowned speakers will hold the seminars, including:

- Dr. Hanno Deyle, Senior Consultant Marketing & Sales at Roland Berger
Topic: How to survive in a multichannel world – Opportunities for retailers under constantly changing market situations

- Luca Lam, Managing Director at Blue Mount
Topic: Visual merchandising stimulates consumption

- Hans Overduin, Former Buying Director at Bever Zwerfsport
Topic: Building a successful multi-brand store

The numbers of registrations, which are already considerable three weeks before the start of the retail camp, demonstrate how important such further training measures are and the amount of interest that they generate. The ISPO Academy Program in Shanghai is being supported by the EOG (European Outdoor Group) as official international outdoor partner. With this cooperation, ISPO and EOG are extending their partnership beyond the winter.

More events are planned in 2013 in addition to the ISPO Academy in Shanghai. Besides ISPO BIKE, numerous international partner events will also host the ISPO Academy. The next training course and the first in Spain at the same time will take place in Barcelona on May 27. Round about 150 registrations have already been received for it. Additionally scheduled events until the end of 2013 are:

July 25 – 28, 2013: ISPO BIKE 2013, Munich
October 16 – 18, 2013: European Outdoor Summit, Stockholm
October 25 – 26, 2013: ISPO Academy Poland, Czarny Gron

The participants in the ISPO Academy now have the possibility of managing their network, cultivating contacts and sharing ideas about various topics via an all-year platform. As a result, it is contributing to further professionalization, know-how transfer and enhancement of previous perspectives in the sports business. The concept of the ISPO Academy also provides additional added value with its services:

The ISPO Conference provides industry participants with professional seminars and workshops on current and market-specific topics with top-rate international speakers and various discussion forums.

During the ISPO Retail Tour, best practice specialist retailers are visited and the various shop concepts presented by the managers to provide new ideas and inspiration.

With the norm in sporting goods retail sales, the ISPO Certification, the ISPO Academy provides the possibility of certifying a sporting goods store. It serves as a seal of quality for a company and creates the basis for a continually high level of advice provided by the sales team.
