Bolivian Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Teresa Morales, is currently leading a 15-member trade delegation, comprising of officials and businessmen, to Cuba.

Speaking at a press conference, the Minister said Cuba has offered to sell garments made by the Bolivian Strategic National Public Textile Company (Enatex) at 1,000 points across the nation.

This would enhance Bolivian garment trade with Cuba. There is good demand for affordable clothing in Cuba and at present, the capacity of Enatex is small, the Minister said.

During its visit, the Bolivian team would hold business meetings and conferences with representatives of major Cuban companies and the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba (CCC).

The Minister said Bolivia proposes to build a common strategy with Cuba to deepen economic ties so that they benefit the Bolivian industry and commerce as well the people of Cuba.

Daniel Sanchez, president of the Confederation of Private Employers of Bolivia, said it is for the first time that Bolivia has sent an official delegation consisting of both Government officials and the private sector to explore trade possibilities with Cuba.
