Four Antigua players make it to Solheim Cup team

The Antigua Group, Inc. - one of the nation's leading designers and marketers of lifestyle and golf apparel under the Antigua brand and the official apparel licensee for the 2013 U.S. Solheim Cup Team is proud to announce that four players from the Antigua Tour Staff are a part of the 2013 U.S. Solheim Cup Team.

Members of the Solheim Cup Team from the Antigua Tour Staff includes Stacy Lewis, fresh off of her win at the Women's British Open, Brittany Lang, winner of the 2012 Manulife Financial LPGA Classic, Gerina Piller and Lizette Salas.

The 2013 Solheim Cup will be held at Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo., August 13-18.

"Having four Antigua ambassadors from our LPGA tour team make the Solheim Cup team is fantastic and adds to the honor of providing the uniforms for the American team", said Ron McPherson, President and CEO of the Antigua Group. "We are very excited for the competition to begin."

Antigua was extremely proud to design and create the U.S.A. team uniforms for 2011 and now for 2013 LPGA Solheim Cup. Antigua is confident and was honored to take on this challenge!

The design & development credit goes to Antigua's senior designer Danielle Dellios alongside U.S. Team Captain Meg Mallon.   "Since I was the designer for the last Solheim Cup I had insight into both the type of clothing I would design and the overall process that would follow once the items were at proto stage.  Getting to meet Meg was great- she helped with product direction, while at the same time allowing me to have some creative freedom in the process as well", said Dellios.

Each play day had to be a one-of-a-kind masterpiece.  Subtly mixing red, white and blue is not easy- and Meg wanted to make sure we maintained a classic feel.  Most of the styles feature their own special details- such as shirring, engineered stripes and bold color blocking.  The fabrications featured are light and airy with stretch to allow the players maximum movement and wicking."

Equally important to the incorporation of the technical functionality of these performance garments is that they never lose sight of critical style elements while paying homage to America and the team representing it. Antigua is quite proud to be part of the week's event and equally excited to see U.S.A. team bring home the Solheim Cup title.
