The exquisite collection of Disney princesses-inspired gowns that had graced the windows of the world’s most famous department store Harrods during Christmas 2012 is set to go under the hammer.

Scheduled to take place on November 13, 2013, the auction will sell the magnificent 10-piece range, which is currently displayed at Disney’s D23 Expo in Los Angeles, to aid Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Inspired from the fairy tale-based Disney movie princesses, the dresses were created by a group of ten extremely talented internationally famous womenswear designers, such as Elie Saab, Versace, Marchesa, Valentino and Jenny Packman.

The to-be-auctioned gowns will include a classy Princess Snow White gown with a bejewelled bodice designed by Oscar de la Renta and a printed, thigh-slit, feather-adorned Pocahontas dress created by Roberto Cavalli.

Founded in 1834, London-based Harrods is an upmarket department store that specializes in a range of luxury items.

Established in 1766, Christie’s is an international fine arts auction house that offers private sales to clients across the globe.
