In another report by IAMAI found that Online retailing by Branded Apparel has witnessed a year on year growth of 84%, this indicates rising consumer preference for shopping online in a category like apparel which is largely dominated by Touch and Feel experience.
Some of the key findings from the latest report on ecommerce Adoption by Apparel retailers are 27.5% of organized apparel retailers are pursuing Ecommerce:
Nearly 28% of organized apparel retailers are selling their products online. It is a healthy percentage indicative of growing adoption of ecommerce.
12.8% of organized apparel retailers have invested in their own ecommerce infrastructure i.e., ecommerce ready websites:
Around 13% of apparel players have undertaken the investments necessary to set up their own ecommerce infrastructure. This highlights the fact that a growing percentage of players are contemplating entry into ecommerce as a long term option
20.2% of organized apparel retailers are present on multiple online platforms including their own sites & third party marketplaces.
