Spanish apparel exports to France surge in Jan-July'13

Spanish exports of apparel to France, the main destination, rose 31.4 percent year-on-year, during the period of January to July 2013, according to the report of foreign trade released by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in Spain.
 
Spain exported apparel worth €445.89 million to France, during the period between January and July 2013, which is an increase of 31.4 percent compared to the same period in 2012.
 
According to the Ministry’s report, Portugal is the second largest market for Spanish clothing exports as Spain exported apparel worth €282.10 million to Portugal, during the first seven months in 2013, indicating an increase of 25.9 percent year-on-year.
 
Italy stood behind Portugal with Spanish exports of clothing worth €258.08 million indicating a rise of 16.8 percent year-on-year, followed by Germany, UK and Belgium, with apparel exports worth €178.35 million, €158.66 million, and €90.48 million, respectively, during the first seven months of 2013.
 
In 2012, the overall Spanish textile and clothing exports grew at 9.1 percent year-on-year to €10.733 billion, with the apparel sector exports rising at 13.4 percent year-on-year to €7.473 billion.
