Sports Authority, one of the nation’s largest full-line sporting goods retailers, announced plans to hire up to 5,000 part-time and temporary workers around the United States to meet consumer demand during the holiday season, a 20-percent increase from last year. Sports Authority plans to convert hundreds of seasonal workers into part-time and full-time team members after the holidays this year.

“The holidays are one of our busiest times of year and we are proud to create thousands of seasonal jobs for willing and interested applicants across the country,” said Robert Gordon, Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Sports Authority.

“At Sports Authority, we pride ourselves on delivering a truly enjoyable holiday shopping experience that our customers have come to expect and our team members are our greatest resource to provide customers with great value and service.”

Seasonal employees are eligible to receive the same benefits as part-time and full-time employees and this year will have access to nearly 80-percent off all Sports Authority merchandise. Sports Authority offers competitive hourly wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, 401(k) and one of the best discounts in retail.
