Germany's Falke launches vicuña wool made socks

Falke, the German luxury hosiery maker, has recently come up with a unique high-end sock collection, made from the rarest ultra-fine wool fibre derived from the Peruvian animal vicuña, mainly found in the Andes.

The 10-piece limited-edition line is based in soft golden-brown hue, the original colour of vicuña, a rare wild South American camelid that produces fibres so delicate that are almost impossible to dye.

The thermal socks range is a part of the Schmallenberg-based manufacturer’s latest autumn/winter collection, which also features a limited edition 20 turtleneck and V-neck men’s pullover collection, made from the same rare yarn.

Falke is the first clothing manufacturer to produce socks made from Vicuna wool, which is the rarest and most expensive wool in the world, being softer, lighter and warmer than any other wool.

Founded in 1895, Falke specializes in a variety of warm clothing crafted from merino wool, silk and cashmere.
