Smart Fabrics & Wearable Technology 2014 from April 23

“Smart Fabrics 2013 was a huge success last year and we know the 2014 event will be even better with well-known and new players featuring new products,” said Barbara Fowler, Conference Director, Smithers Apex. “You might notice that this event has a new name. Incorporating wearable technology into the conference is a reflection on how the industry has moved.”

Fowler continued that, “Years ago the presentations reflected a market solely based on fabrics, but we need to represent today’s world. Consumers are already being marketed watches, rings, glasses, and other wearable devices that interact with their daily lives. Smart Fabrics & Wearable Technology 2014 will feature the latest developments and innovation in the two complimentary worlds of smart fabrics and wearable technology. This conference will delight all of the senses, and maybe a few you didn’t know you had!”

The program for Smart Fabrics & Wearable Technology 2014 will once again be shaped by Smithers Apex and an advisory board comprised of the top professionals from some of the industry’s biggest players. Stacey Burr, VP Wearable Sports Electronics, Adidas and Hap Klopp, Chairman, Obscura Digital have joined Tom Martin, Associate Professor, Virginia Tech; Dr. Tricia Wilson, President and Principal, Fabric Works; and Kunigunde Cherenack, Research Scientist, Intelligent Textiles Project, HI&E Group, Philips Research for the 2014 program.
