According to a statement issued by Proexport, this year’s edition would have 1,000 buyers from 30 different countries and 2,000 exporters, exporting various products including apparel, participating in the forum.

Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of Proexport, said this year Proexport aims to break all kinds of records by generating business during the two-day forum. The idea is to gather 3,000 companies under a roof to negotiate and generate trade deals, she added.

Ms. Lacouture said that another objective of the 50th Business Matchmaking Forum is to showcase international firms how Colombian entrepreneurs have evolved with the organization of the event. The participation from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has also increased at the forum, as the last edition held in the European Union (EU) had 88 percent of SMEs partaking in the event, she added.
