Outdoor gear maker Filson opens store in Aspen

The American manufacturer, Filson, is pleased to announce the opening of a new retail store in the famed Rocky Mountain resort of Aspen just in time for the holidays.

Having opened its first international store in London last spring, the new Aspen store is the company's first retail location in the U.S. outside the Pacific Northwest.

Open to the public December 3, the shop will offer a mix of Filson signature luggage, leather accessories, apparel and iconic outerwear such as the 100-year-old Mackinaw Cruiser.

"Filson has been crafting durable goods for those who refuse to stay indoors since the Alaskan Gold Rush," said Filson CEO Alan Kirk. "There are few places in the world with a higher concentration of outdoor enthusiasts than Colorado. We look forward to being closer to our longtime customers in this state as well as the region's many international guests."
