The seminar is titled “Aesthetic Fit and Technical Fit, Best Practices for Achieving Both.” The seminar will also address concepts such as organizational fit ownership, fit intent and fit consistency. It will take place Thursday, Jan. 23, 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
According to Howard, the seminar will examine key differences between aesthetic fit and technical fit and offer thoughts on how to resolve them. “There are multiple stakeholders in the product development process, including the design, merchandizing and technical teams, and each has a different perspective on apparel fit,” notes Howard, Alvanon’s Executive Director, AlvaInsight.
“Before starting product development, the major stakeholders must define the target demographic, agree on a core body size for sampling and have a common understanding of fit characteristics.”
Alvanon, the global fashion industry’s apparel fit leader, will also exhibit AlvaForm fit forms at the show, Tuesday, Jan. 21, to Thursday, Jan. 23. Alvanon will occupy Booth 466.
The AlvaForm mannequins, in adult and children’s sizes, conform to regional body standards. Visitors to the exhibit can view live demonstrations showing how Alvanon employs 3D avatars to create its AlvaForm mannequins. The forms help brands, retailers and manufacturers improve fit accuracy and shorten product lead times.
