The Woolmark Company is pleased to present the latest innovations in Merino wool for the sports and outdoors sector, cementing the natural fibre’s rightful place within the market.

The global authority on wool is exhibiting at this year’s Outdoor Retailer Winter Market show, January 22 to 24, at stand MR151C.

Outdoor Retailer Winter Market is North America’s largest winter lifestyle and sports industry gathering in the world, attracting more than 20,000 attendees to the Salt palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City.  The show has proven to be the leading growth vehicle for brands that are interested in progressing and advancing into multiple channels of the outdoor marketplace.

At Outdoor Retailer, The Woolmark Company will present the latest commercial developments under its MerinoPerform banner, highlighting fabrics and products which offer maximum comfort, style and performance.

The standout developments to be presented are:
- Wool wadding for ski jackets
- Woven fabrics for trousers and hiking shirts in 100 per cent Merino wool
- Seamless Merino wool garments
- New fabric developments in jersey; and wovens from our MerinoPerform partners.

“Many products on offer from leading manufacturers are developed in partnership and meet the strict performance standards set up by The Woolmark Company,” explains Sports and Outdoors category manager for The Woolmark Company Lars Ulvesund. “The purpose of these standards is to make sure consumers always get a high-quality product with guaranteed satisfaction.

“While next-to-skin Merino garments are commonly used in the market, new market segments are opening up for wool with sports brands now promoting Merino throughout all the apparel layers; base, mid and outer. Australian wool producers have perfected the fibre over many years of breeding and now Merino is positioned amongst the top performance products in this field."
