Fibre2fashion debuts report on US apparel import trends

Fibre2fashion, the world’s largest B2B portal for the global textile & garment industry, has launched a quarterly report on US apparel & clothing imports Q3 2013 trends to serve the demand of the entire textile value chain across the globe. 

The bottom-line objective behind introducing this report is to provide in-depth knowledge and information pertaining to US garments import trade analysis, which can help global apparel manufacturers, exporters, importers, consultants and analysts, to understand the US clothing market outlook and fundamentals as a whole.

As is well known, the US is the largest importer of textiles and garments in the world. US apparel and clothing imports rose by more than 11% year-on-year in Q3 of 2013. In the month of July 2013 alone, garment imports surged 29% over June 2013 and 4.9% over July 2012.

By and large, China is the biggest apparel exporter to the US and it accounted for approximately 49% of US apparel imports in Q3 2013. US imports from China significantly increased in Q3 2013 as compared to Q2 2013.

In Q2 2013, US imported apparels worth US$ 8341.94 million from China which rose to US$ 12150.39 million in Q3 2013, up an astounding 46%.

The major apparel importing partners of US are China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Mexico, Indonesia, Cambodia, Pakistan, etc.

The report particularly focuses on the analysis of US imports of apparels in the third quarter of 2013 from across the globe. The report provides brief insight, quarter-to-quarter comparison, trade analysis, percentage change and changing trends over the last quarter.

It lists out the major countries from which US has been sourcing the products along with their yearly, monthly, and quarterly trend. It also covers the yearly, monthly, and quarterly trend for major apparel and clothing products imported by US from across the globe.
