Macy's to launch “American Icons” campaign nationwide

This week, customers can join the festivities from coast-to-coast as Macy’s launches American Icons nationwide. Beginning May 14, the retailer will reprise its beloved late spring campaign that pays homage to the people, places and things that make thecountry great, through specially-curated merchandise, launch parties, local county fairs, Minor League Baseball events, grilling competitions, a patriotic sweepstakes and a fundraising program to benefit Got Your 6 and America’s veterans. Celebratory events will take place at select Macy’s stores and on macys.com through July 4.
 
“America is home to spectacular people, places and things that have a cultural impact across the world,” said Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer. “In bringing back our American Icons campaign, we’re proud to again join the celebration of all things America – offering our customers specially-curated fashion, family-oriented events and an opportunity to support America’s veterans.”
 
Give Back. Get Back. – Got Your 6
Macy’s is showing its support for those who have served the country by partnering with one of the nation’s most innovative veteran empowerment initiatives, Got Your 6. In the military, "got your six" is a term that means "I've got your back.” Uniting the resources of the entertainment industry with a coalition of more than 30 veteran-focused, nonprofit partners, Got Your 6 is dedicated to improving veteran reintegration, celebrating veterans as leaders and civic assets, and putting their skills to work at home. The coalition focuses on six pillars of reintegration—jobs, education, health, housing, family and leadership, with a goal to change the conversation around America’s millions of military veterans.

From the beaches of California and the streets of New York to Nashville’s music scene and Utah’s Monument Valley, Macy’s takes customers on a cross-country journey to discover the unique style and inspiration that comes from America’s most captivating destinations. In Macy’s stores across the country and on macys.com, shoppers can look forward to fashion and home merchandise featuring timeless summer silhouettes, patriotic hues, bold prints and modern interpretations of classic American elements woven throughout various brand assortments. 
 
Now through the end of June, customers will also be able to shop for exclusive, specially-curated collections from American’s most sought-after brands including Calvin Klein White Label, Tommy Hilfiger, I.N.C. International Concepts, MICHAEL Michael Kors, Nautica, Finish Line, and more. From free-spirited looks to buttoned-up classics to more modern silhouettes, customers will find something for everyone when shopping Macy’s American Icons merchandise this spring.
