Apparel retailer NIKE revamps management team

NIKE, Inc. announced a number of general management changes within key Geographies and Categories across its global business. The changes are designed to continue to drive the company’s global growth while further strengthening and diversifying its leadership bench.
 
“Given the scale of our global business and the breadth of our consumer-focused categories these moves continue to elevate our bench of leadership and focus our efforts against our biggest growth opportunities”

The following Geography changes were announced:
Marc van Pappelendam, currently VP, GM of UK & Ireland becomes VP, GM of Central & Eastern Europe. van Pappelendam has held various commercial and general management roles in Europe during his 15 years at NIKE and oversaw the company’s efforts during the London Olympics in 2012.
 
Jim Reynolds becomes VP, GM of Japan, transitioning from his current role as VP, GM of Russia, where he has led the brand, accelerated marketplace development and leveraged key sports moments including this year's Winter Games in Sochi. Prior to his role in Russia, Reynolds served as the GM of Central Europe and Israel.
 
The following changes were announced within NIKE’s key Categories:
In an effort to continue to focus and accelerate growth across NIKE’s training business, Craig Zanon will now lead an expanded and elevated role in the Men’s Training category as VP, GM of Global Men’s Training. Zanon, currently VP, GM of Global Basketball, has held a range of senior management roles in the US during his 23-year career with NIKE.
 
Michael Jackson will take the lead in the Basketball category as VP, GM of Global Basketball. Currently VP, GM of North America Basketball, Jackson has extensive knowledge of the Basketball category and experience in both North America and China.
