’47 Brand, a privately held premium sports lifestyle apparel and headwear brand, has suited up with the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL), part of the National Alliance of Summer Baseball, to build the best product possible for athletes. ’47 Brand is the official on-field headwear and off-field apparel brand for four of the premier teams in the league. This year marks the first year of the long term partnership.

As the official partner, the brand designed custom headwear and apparel for these four teams: the Bourne Braves, Brewster Whitecaps, Harwich Mariners and Hyannis Harbor Hawks, with plans to extend the two-year enterprise, creating sports lifestyle product for more teams by the summer of 2016. ’47 Brand will be outfitting teams in custom hats from their new fitted silhouette, the ’47 PRO.

“As a family owned and operated business headquartered in Boston, we couldn’t be prouder to support baseball in our own backyard,” said co-owner Bobby D’Angelo. “My family grew up immersed in the world of baseball. In addition to running the Red Sox Store and building ’47 Brand, we spent a lot of time on the Cape watching some of the best players who now take the field in the major leagues.”

Naturally, the D’Angelo family spent their summers at the ball park. Founders and twin brothers, Arthur and Henry D’Angelo, visited Cape Cod often and attended many Cape League games over the years. The Cape League’s regular season starts in mid-June and runs through mid-August. The playoffs determine the East and West Division Champions, who then compete for the League Championship.

In 2013, more than 250 Cape League alumni played in the major leagues, including Tim Lincecum from the San Francisco Giants, Jacoby Ellsbury and Mark Teixeira from the New York Yankees, and Ryan Braun from the Milwaukee Brewers. The reputation of the Cape League is well-known along the shore, throughout Massachusetts and nationally in the world of sports.

“The team is a big ‘fan’ of ’47 Brand, so we were thrilled to learn that the company would be outfitting the players this season and next,” said Elizabeth Layton from the Harwich Mariners. “They love the quality, fit and design of ’47 Brand products.”

“It’s exciting to attend a game today with my family and see the players on the field wearing product manufactured by ’47 Brand,” said co-owner, Steven D’Angelo. “Our family is honored to be involved with this league, and we hope this is the beginning of what will be a long-lasting partnership in providing performance headwear and apparel for such a stellar organization.”
