New York set to host women fashion & lifestyle event AXIS

The inaugural edition of AXIS, a new fashion and lifestyle trade event created for the current generation of trend-focused young women, is slated to take place from February 22nd to 24th, 2014.

Drawing influence from art, music, street culture and design, the multidimensional platform, which aims to focus on cross-category merchandising, will feature designs from a mix of niche seasoned and emerging global brands that do not show at regular womenswear fashion-centric events.

The upcoming show will showcase women’s fashion, activewear, swimwear and intimatewear collections in a gallery-like setting with white walls, natural wood and modern fixtures that mimic an architectural façade.

The fair will be organized by the Reed Fashion Group, which is a division of Reed Exhibitions, an international trade show organizer which hosts about 20 fashion events annually, including Capsule and Agenda shows, in three countries.

Apart from drawing the established resources of its parent company Reed Exhibitions, the event will also bring all the women’s brands, which normally showcases at the Capsule Show, together in one place.

The AXIS Show Director Vanessa Chiu said in a statement, “AXIS is the first trade show of its kind built for a new generation of women. AXIS was created to fill the void in the Women’s New York fashion lifestyle market with niche brands that currently do not show.”

“AXIS takes a cross-category approach to merchandising that reflects the eclectic, aspirational way its demographic shops. The result is an experiential event that resonates throughout the fashion industry and serves as a year-round resource for attendees,” she continued.

“We’ve built a platform to showcase the new-new, expose branded collections that were displaced in the current New York trade circuit, and introduce new global collections into the U.S. marketplace,” Chiu adds.

“We plan on utilizing our team’s matchmaking expertise to introduce media, brands and retailers, and tie it all in with events that make AXIS a true 3-D, lifestyle experience,” the show director further elaborates.

The fair exhibitors and buyers will be introduced to AXIS’s vast network of creative and talent resources, as well as exclusive digital content and seasonal trend reports based on the opinions of the key fashion influencers such as Nike Global Concept Director Kristin Reiter, SweatTheStyle.com founder and model Adrianne Ho, athlete and style icon Kassia Meador, Style.com Fashion Market Director Rachel Wang and Capsule Show cofounder Deirdre Maloney.

Apart from the fashion exhibits, the bi-annual fair will also display home and beauty accessories.

Reed Exhibitions serves 44 industry sectors with trade and consumer events. It hosts some 500 events in about 42 countries throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa. (PB)
