Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BKMEA) has compiled ‘Global Buyers Information Directory’ in order to help the readymade garment (RMG) sector in expanding its market.

The research and development cell of BKMEA has published the 1000 pages book, with 20,000 buyers’ list from 160 countries, with great level of encouragement and support from BKMEA president AKM Salim Osman.

The directory contains tariff and non-tariff structures, economic purview, air and sea route cost, international pricing comparison, and many more information. It took two years to compile the information and finally to send it to the printing.

The book is a unique work as no such volume of business directory has ever been produced in Bangladesh or in the international arena. The book has been copyrighted in the name of BKMEA.

BKMEA has been taking efforts to expand new markets for RMG exporters of Bangladesh so that they do not have to depend on the buyers of the EU countries and the US. The directory is solely aimed at helping knitwear, woven, sweater, and other clothing related entrepreneurs to look for new markets that hold huge potentials in terms of business expansion, which have not been discovered due to lack of information, data, and other business matters.

AKM Salim Osman said the ‘Global Buyers Information Directory’ will support the Bangladesh RMG sector immensely and within 2-3 years after the publication of the book, the export volume will be tripled if the information can be effectively utilised by Bangladeshi entrepreneurs. (GK)
