One of the world’s largest online marketplaces eBay has announced that eBay Valet, a professional selling service, will accept high end clothing, in addition to shoes, handbags, electronics and other popular household items.

eBay knows their users value choice and convenience, and expanding eBay Valet to include top designer fashion labels offers more options for people who want to sell their new or like new apparel on one of the world’s largest online marketplaces, it said in a statement.

eBay Valet does all the work for consumers; from estimating the price, to taking professional pictures, to the quick and safe shipment of items to buyers, and everything in between. As such an easy way to make money on eBay, consumers may find themselves frequently turning to their closets in search of something to sell with eBay Valet.

“Fashion is one of the top categories on eBay globally; in fact, a dress sells every second and a pair of shoes sells every two seconds,” said Marcelle Parrish, head of fashion at eBay Marketplaces. “The expansion of eBay Valet in the fashion category delivers access to experts who will showcase clothing in the best possible light, in front of one of the largest online shopping audiences.”

eBay also partnered with renowned fashion blogger Garance Doré to officially debut the expansion of eBay Valet – providing fashion lovers everywhere tips and tricks on what to sell and how to sell, in order to make room in their closets for the season’s latest must-haves.

“Fashion is ever-evolving, just like our own individual styles, and we all have a dress that’s only been worn once or a blouse with the tags still attached hanging untouched in our closets,” said Doré. “Now you can turn those beautiful pieces into much-needed money to fund new fashion finds. And with the fashion expansion of eBay Valet, someone else does all the work for you!”

“By making selling online accessible to more sellers, eBay Valet contributes to the wide selection of unique and hard-to-find items that are available on eBay,” said Vincent Payen, head of consumer selling for eBay Marketplaces. “eBay Valet is a quick and easy way for anyone to sell everything from designer clothing and handbags to electronics and household items.”

Once the items have been sent to a valet, customers will receive regular updates via email, during the next 3-4 weeks, when their items are received, listed and sold. Customers then receive up to 80 per cent of what their items sell for, deposited into their PayPal account. Any unsold items are returned to the customer for free. (SH)
