JL Morison to expand baby care product range

Baby product firm JL Morison is planning to enter more product categories with the launch of diapers, toiletries and apparel in the current financial year to tap the fast growing baby care market, according to media reports.

JL Morison promoter director Sakshi Mody said the company plans to launch products like thermometer, diapers and apparel as part of an expansion strategy to tap the growing baby market.

She did not disclose financial investment the expansion would entail.

JL Morison's current product range includes breast pumps, feeding bottles, sipper utensils, toothbrushes, soap, wipe and talc.

The company has been growing at the rate of 25 per cent year-on-year for the last three years while the whole baby care segment in India is growing at 17 per cent a year, Mody said.

Mody said the company is also working on expanding its distribution network. At present, the company sells its products through 400 distributors across the country and through e-commerce majors such as Flipkart and Snapdeal.

The company is also in the process of setting up a new manufacturing facility in Kolkata to manufacture feeding bottles and sippers etc. (SH)
