With 8 months still to go for the Japan International Apparel Machinery and Textile Industry Trade Fair “JIAM 2016 Osaka”, 80 per cent of the exhibition space of has already been booked, the Japan Sewing Machinery Manufactures Association (JASMA) has announced.

The theme of JIAM 2016 Osaka to be held from April 6 to 9, 2016 is “Innovative Solutions and Advanced Processing Technologies”. According to JASMA, the pace at which each company has decided to participate is quicker than that of the previous edition. With entry still open, it is likely that the coming 11th edition will increase its exhibition size.

Till July 30, 15 existing exhibitors (13 domestic, 2 overseas) had expanded their exhibition space. Ten companies (5 domestic, 5 overseas) will be participating in the exhibition for the first time. The total exhibition size has grown by 11.7 per cent.

The show will welcome overseas exhibitors from 10 countries/regions including Germany and others. JASMA members and renowned Japanese enterprises have already applied for bigger space than the previous edition.

Many foreign companies have shown huge interest in JIAM 2016. Among them are a large number of international trade buyers from South and Southeast Asian countries, particularly Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and others.

The show will offer one of the best opportunities to approach leading garment manufacturers and major sewing machine distributors in the world. The JIAM 2016 Executive Committee is drawing up a variety of programmes such as special presentations, seminars and the “Home Sewing Zone,” a B to C zone that showcases sewing machines and related accessories for home usage, JASMA said.
