The countdown for the 'In Style - Hong Kong', a mega promotion to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from September 14 to 20, 2015 has begun.

The In Style - Hong Kong Expo is expected to attract about 10,000 trade buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, brand agents, franchisees, department stores and specialist vendors.

It will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center, presenting myriad opportunities for buyers to source the hottest styles and trends from Hong Kong.

More than 180 participating companies will feature Hong Kong lifestyle products in four themed zones as well as a display of award-winning pieces.

The four themed zones are; fashion and fashion accessories; jewellery and watches; gifts and houseware and consumer electronics.

The Hong Kong Design Award Display Zone, titled 'Fame - In Style' will showcase a range of award-winning products to highlight Hong Kong's creative and design capabilities.

Event organiser, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) has arranged for top business professionals, leading brands and creative talent to inspire and inform Indonesian corporates and consumers alike.

"This promotion is an expansion of our successful Lifestyle Expos held in Jakarta over the past three years, showing Hong Kong's innovative and quality products," said Margaret Fong, executive director at HKTDC.

"This time we will include Hong Kong's professional business services to show how Indonesian companies can use Hong Kong to explore and expand to the Chinese mainland,” she added.

The 'In Style - Hong Kong' offerings will also feature a citywide promotion that allows Indonesian consumers to sample Hong Kong's trendy lifestyle attractions.

The Hong Kong branded product expo will be exclusive for trade buyers, while the business symposium will feature networking, business matching and consultation services.

According to a HKTDC press release, the promotion is expected to help deepen the already strong trade links between Hong Kong and Indonesia, the world's fourth-most populous nation.

“In 2014, bilateral trade between Hong Kong and Indonesia reached US $5.16 billion,” the trade development authority informed.

The chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), C Y Leung will be the guest-of-honour of the opening ceremony on September 17.

The day-long symposium will feature distinguished speakers like secretary for justice of the HKSAR, Rimsky Yuen, YK Pang, director, Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd and Royce Yuen, founder of New Brand New Ltd.

Four thematic sessions like RMB Internationalisation; Latest Trends in Digital Marketing; Legal and Dispute and Resolution: Key for International Trade and finally Creativity in Business: Dialogue with Design Experts will be organised. (AR)
