Arvind Mills may partly shift its denim facilities to profitable destinations like Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a major apparel manufacturing country which has a demand for denim of 200 million meter per annum.
Out of India's total yearly denim demand of 120 million meters, Arvind Mill produces 110 million meters of denim annually.
Company may wind up and relocate its 20 million meters per annum denim plant at Santej near Ahmedabad to Bangladesh, sources said.
Company is also looking for other alternative sites like Egypt and Sri Lanka, but yet nothing is finalized.
If company will relocate denim plant in Santej near Ahmedabad, it will continue manufacturing its products like shirting fabric, knits fabrics and garments and bottom weights.
