The Forzani Group Ltd Thanks to Sport Chek and The Power of Sport for Kids program - 3 well deserving community organizations in Ontario will be well stocked with brand new sports equipment.

The three recipient community groups are as follows:
The Boys and Girls Club of Brantford - Brantford, ON Woodward School - Hamilton, ON Barrie Young Peoples Centre - Barrie, ON $25,000 in brand new sporting equipment will be presented to these three organizations between January 16th - 17th.

The Power of Sport for Kids Program provides children in need with sporting equipment and the opportunity to play and enjoy sports. The program is driven nationally through Sport Chek stores.

By means of fundraising, brand new sporting equipment is donated to groups and organizations who work with or support children who are in need or at risk.

"The Power of Sport Program believes that all kids need the opportunity to play sports and experience a healthy lifestyle" says Jennifer Harbour, Program Coordinator. "For some, it's just not that simple.

Even a basic pair of running shoes for some families represents a cost beyond their means. For kids in that situation it means going without the basic equipment to participate in the very activities that we encourage of them."

The media is invited to attend these celebration events. The addresses and dates are as follows:
- January 16th - Brantford Boys & Girls Club
- 2 Edge St.
- Brantford, ON 6pm - 7pm

- January 17th - Woodward School
- 575 Woodward Ave.
- Hamilton, ON 9:15am - 10:15am

- January 17th - Barrie Young Peoples Centre
- 59 Maple Ave.
- Barrie, ON 5pm - 6:30pm.
